Meghan Swantkowski

Clinical Research Coordinator

Meghan is originally from Houston, Texas, and is currently a master’s student in Genetic Counseling at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biological sciences with a minor in anthropology from the University of Notre Dame in 2023.

Her interested in genetic counseling is deeply informed by personal experiences caring for family members with a rare genetic mutation causing early-onset Alzheimer’s disease. Through these experiences, Meghan gained a firsthand understanding of the critical role that community, support, and hope for emerging therapies play in the lives of individuals and families navigating a genetic diagnosis.

Meghan is particularly passionate about rare disease advocacy and is motivated by both patient and family experiences to expand access to education and resources in this space. She is grateful for the opportunity to partner with the Schinzel-Giedion Foundation and support clinical research coordination and outreach efforts aimed at improving care and treatment options for children with SGS. She is continuously inspired by the dedication of the families and the Foundation and feels honored to contribute, even in a small way, to this important work.
